Yorkton Equity Group Inc. (YEG) is a publicly-traded (TSX.V) real estate investment company with its head office located in Edmonton, Alberta. We focus on purchasing mid-market and luxury condominium grade revenue properties which we believe have significant upside potential. After acquiring the properties, we streamline and improve the operations of the acquired properties, and in some cases the physical assets of the acquired properties, before placing the properties back on the market at rental rates that reflect their increased value. Our goal is to become Canada’s leading provider of affordable mid and upper market rental accommodations committed to Environmental, Social Governance principles.

We follow a six-step value chain business model:

  • Acquisition: We purchase under-performing revenue properties at prices frequently below replacements costs.
  • Capital Improvements: We Increase the asset value of the acquired properties by upgrading the property when necessary.
  • Operational Efficiencies:  We minimize operating costs by efficient professional management. We deploy professional rental management software, and where applicable, energy-saving equipment.
  • Value Enhancement: Upgrade and reposition properties in the market by providing a higher level of service which equates to higher rents while building customer loyalty.
  • Financing: Maintain a sound capital structure with access to both private and capital markets.
  • Divestitures and Refinancing: Occasionally sell or refinance the revenue properties to redirect capital into newer higher potential properties.
