Yorkton sponsored the Edmonton Chinatown Mayoral Forum by offering the venue, Chinese food such as dim sum, fried rice, fried noodle, stir-fried vegetables and beverages free of charge to all audience. Four mayoral candidates, Andrew Knack, Tim Cartwell, Rahim Jaffer and Tony Caterina, accepted the invitation and attended the debate. Jessica Ng of CBC acted as Moderator. It was the last public forum before the election. The forum was well attended by over 200 voters. All the candidates showed their concerns and views to improve the safety and vibrancy of Chinatown and downtown.
