Yorkton is one of the sponsors of FasinAsian Film Festival, an annual national event with the mission to celebrate and promote Asian perspectives, culture, and integrity in film and media. In Edmonton, it was held in May 12-16, 2026. These film festivals are particularly meaningful in Canadian cities that promote multiculturalism.
The Opening Ceremony Reception was held in Art Gallery of Alberta on May 12, followed by the screening of a feature film, AKASHI, written, directed and acted by the Vancouver-based Mayumi Yoshida. Representing Yorkton to attend the Opening Ceremony were Ben Lui, David Tam, Karl Miu and Jackson Ho.
