Yorkton attended the State of The City Address by His Worship Mayor Andrew Knack. This luncheon seminar was hosted by the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce.
Edmonton Mayor Andrew Knack delivered his first annual State of the City address on May 14, 2026 at the Edmonton Convention Centre. Mayor’s speech highlighted the city’s strong economic and population growth while addressing key challenges such as public safety, affordability and downtown vibrancy. He stated approximately 250,000 people have moved to Edmonton in the last five years and he positioned Edmonton as one of Canada’s fastest-growing major cities, emphasizing its young workforce and economic momentum. Mayor Knack committed himself and his councillors to tacking Edmonton’s core safety and housing challenges, and he repeatedly emphasized the City’s four main priorities set by City Council, Economic Development, Growth Management, Quality Services and Safety.
